Criar ilustrações de capa sempre foi uma coisa especial pra mim. Além de ter um destaque em relação á outros tipos de ilustração, a imagem criada para uma capa geralmente carrega em si conceitos editoriais importantes para representar a publicação. Tive a oportunidade até o momento de criar 5 capas para a revista Valor Compartilhado, que é uma publicação que reúnem projetos super interessantes feitos pela união do setor privado, organizações sociais e governo. Pelo fato de a revista tratar de assuntos relevantes e jogar luz em projetos que fazem a diferença para a sociedade, o ato de pensar em boas imagens se torna mais fluido aqui no meu processo criativo. Se torna mais fluido nesses casos porque eu compartilho das mensagens que cada capa carrega.

Creating cover illustrations has always been a special thing for me. In addition to being highlighted in relation to other types of illustration, the image created for a cover usually carries important editorial concepts to represent the publication. So far I had the opportunity to create 5 covers for Valor Compartilhado magazine, which is a publication that brings together super interesting projects made by the union of the private sector, social organizations and government. Because the magazine deals with relevant issues and sheds light on projects that make a difference to society, the act of thinking about good images becomes more fluid here in my creative process. It becomes more fluid in these cases because I share the messages that each cover carries.

Antes de fazer qualquer esboço, escrevo palavras chaves que caracterizam determinada edição. A partir dessas anotações, penso em como usar metáforas visuais para traduzir e amplificar tais conceitos. Junto com tudo isso, já se faz importante pensar na composição e na estrutura de cores da imagem. A partir daí, muito diálogo junto ao corpo editorial da publicação, até eu ter o sinal verde para avançar na criação da imagem. O que ocupa minha mente ao longo processo é estabelecer uma conexão como quem está vendo a imagem. Para além da técnica, conexão, vibração visual e emoção

Before making any sketch, I write key words that characterize a certain edition. From these notes, I think about how to use visual metaphors to translate and amplify such concepts. Along with all this, it is already important to think about the composition and color structure of the image. From there, a lot of back and forth with the editorial board, until I got the green light to move forward in the creation of the image. What occupies my mind throughout the process is establishing a connection with the person who is viewing the image. Beyond technique, connection, visual vibration and emotion
